Sightseeing Cruise on the Brisbane River

While on the Cruise to Lunch, you will see and hear all about Brisbane from the decks of the MV Neptune on a 1½ hour tour of the Brisbane River while enjoying a delicious Devonshire morning tea. You will be entertained by the informative commentary while taking advantage of the fantastic photo opportunities as we cruise past some of Brisbane’s most iconic sights. We will then hop off at Newstead Park and take a short stroll (400m) down to The Breakfast Creek Hotel and enjoy a delicious lunch from the set menu before returning once again to MV Neptune for our cruise back to South Bank Parklands.

DEPARTURE/RETURN LOCATION: Cultural Centre Pontoon, South Bank Parklands. (50m upstream from the Victoria Bridge, 300m upstream from The Wheel. The Cultural Centre pontoon is directly in front of the Cultural Centre ie. Museum and Library). Google ‘Cultural Centre Pontoon’ to get directions.

Note: The Council has most of the boardwalks along the river closed off for maintenance, so please allow plenty of time to get to there.  During these works, whether you are travelling by train, car, bus, taxi or on foot, please put into Google maps ‘Cultural Centre Tunnel’ for directions.  Once you are in  this tunnel there is a 50m walkway down to the river, our boat is directly in front of this Tunnel.  The best carpark (if driving) is The Museum or Library Carparks (which are both located in the tunnel), as the boat is directly in front of the Museum. (See map).

Cost:  $60 per person (usually $65)

Assembly time:  10:00am

Departs:  10:30am (sharp - they will not wait for you)    Returns:  2:00pm

10.15am Boarding

10.30am Departure

11.15am Arrive Newstead Park - Walk to Breakfast Creek Hotel

1.15pm Pick up Newstead Park

2.00pm Arrive at Cultural Centre for disembarkation


NB.  Please wear suitable footwear for the boat and walking!  Also bring an umbrella if the weather looks inclement.  


About MV Neptune:  she is a classic timber cruiser built in Brisbane in 1966. She is a boutique style vessel that can carry up to 80 guests. Proudly locally owned and operated, the Neptune boasts comfortable indoor areas as well as spacious outdoor and deck areas.

Upstairs, the fully covered deck is a great area allowing unrestricted views of the passing scenery. The indoor area or galley has seating for 42 guests.
