DRIVE
Please assemble at Shell Coles Express Glasshouse Mountains Southbound from 8:15 am for drivers' briefing at 9:00 am. Departing at 9:15 am. The route will take us on a scenic and interesting run through the Glass House Mountains and the Mooloolah Valley areas. The drive should take about 1 hour 15 minutes, provided there are no delays due to traffic congestion issues etc.
FACTORY
The iconic Ginger Factory is one of the Sunshine Coast's most popular tourist attractions. Discover the story of ginger from paddock to plate and see how Buderim Ginger has become the largest processor of ginger in the world.
Experience the fascinating world of bees with the live bee show then enjoy a tasting of sensational varieties of honey. Go Overboard with the Gingerbread Man as you set out on an exciting water voyage visiting hundreds of puppets from every port of the world. Ride Moreton, a 120 year old Ginger Train as you relax in an open air carriage and enjoy beautiful gardens.
The Ginger Factory is the perfect place to experience the authentic taste of Queensland with great shopping along with a fantastic café featuring modern Australian cuisine surrounded by acres of beautiful tropical gardens & walks
Morning Schedule - Tour & Lunch:
10.45am: Arrival - Park cars in the gravel staff car park on arrival (exclusively for BMWCQ cars). Go to the far right when driving in.
GROUP 1
11am: Factory Tour & Tasting (40 minutes) - Hear the story of how ginger is grown, harvested, and turned into a delicious range of Buderim Ginger products. Finish the tour with a tasting and discover why we produce the world’s finest ginger!
GROUP 2
11.30am: Factory Tour & Tasting (40 minutes)
EVERYONE
12.15pm: LUNCH – Blue Ginger Room
Two-course lunch.
Course 1: Lunch: Served alternative drop.
- Ginger Kitchen Fish and Chips served with red ginger aioli and a side salad
- Oven roasted herb chicken supreme: served with golden potatoes, seasonal vegetables and traditional gravy (gluten-free).
Course 2: Dessert:
- House baked wicked chocolate brownie served with Buderim Ginger whipped cream
- Self-serve tea and a freshly brewed coffee station.
After lunch, please explore The Ginger Factory at your own leisure & cost.
